Cebu Pacific now flies to Israel

The fourteen weekly flight entitlements granted after the successful round of air talks between the Philippines and Israel have been divided equally between Philippine Airlines and Cebu Pacific. According to Carmelo Arcilla, Executive Director of the Civil Aeronautics Board, both Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines will each receive seven flight entitlements to Israel permitting each carrier to mount a daily flight.

Cebu Pacific's long-haul low cost 2014 expansion to Australia, Saudi Arabia, with Middle East focus

Cebu Pacific is planning to launch several new long-haul destinations, up to five in the Middle East and one in Australia, in 2014 as it expands its A330-300 fleet. The carrier currently operates two A330-300s and is taking three additional A330s in 2014, with deliveries in Feb-2014, early 2Q2014 and late 3Q2014, according to CAPA's Fleet Database.

Cebu Pacific, hard-pressed to find suitable local candidates, is hiring another batch of foreign pilots to fly its present and coming Airbus A330 long-range planes. Cebu Pacific currently has 45 foreign pilots on regular positions, less than ten percent of its flight crew, said an airline official who asked not to be identified by name.

Cebu Pacific buying Tigerair PH for $15M

Cebu Air Inc., operator of budget carrier Cebu Pacific, is taking full control of Tigerair Philippines as part of a strategic alliance meant to strengthen their position in the competitive regional market. The company told the Philippine Stock Exchange in a disclosure on Wednesday, January 8 that it will buy 100% of Tigerair for $15 million and expects the deal to close in a few months.

Cebu Pacific Air adds new domestic route

Cebu Pacific Air has added a new domestic route in the Philippines. On 25 January it commenced thrice-weekly flights using its A320s on the 490-kilometre route between Davao (DVO) and Bacolod (BCD). No other carrier serves this route. It becomes the airline’s eighth domestic route from Davao and its fourth from Bacolod.

8 new Airbus aircraft for Cebu Pacific this year

Cebu Pacific is expecting the delivery of 8 new Airbus planes this year, as part of its ongoing refleeting program. "For 2014, we look forward to taking delivery of 8 additional Airbus aircraft – 5 Airbus A320 and 3 Airbus A330," said Atty. Jorenz Tañada, vice president for corporate affairs of Cebu Air Inc.
